Fenerbahce reached an agreement with Trabzonspor in order to sign the Turkish player Gokhan Unal and make him become a canary.
Turkish international Gökhan Ünal has joined Fenerbahçe SK from Süper Lig rivals Trabzonspor AŞ for a fee of €3.5m, with Burak Yılmaz set to move the other way as part of the deal. Time for change
Gökhan, 27, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Istanbul outfit as he looks to reignite a career that has stalled this season, the striker dropping out of the international reckoning and limited to two goals in 13 league appearances. "I promise the fans will see a very different Gökhan," he said. "Fenerbahçe wanted me before [in summer 2008] but it's better to come here at my age, with maturity." Eighteen months ago Gökhan instead opted for a move from Kayserispor to Trabzonspor, and as they prepare for his departure the Black Sea side have secured the services of the 24-year-old Burak Yılmaz, currently on loan at Eskişehirspor, for next season.
